Microsoft Word 2000 (English) has Wrapping Problem with Chinese/ Japanese text line
On an English or western Windows, It's known that Microsoft Word 2000 (English/Western versions) can not wrap a Chinese/Japanaese/Korean (CJK) line correctly when there are spaces in the middle. Word 2000 treats a CJK line as normal English line and insists finding a 'SPACE' to break the line. For example, the following line will be breaked between word 'two' and 'three'
這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文one two three南極星這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文.
and becomes:
這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文one two
three南極星這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文這行中文裡面夾有幾個英文.
Solutions:
- Microsft has fixed the problem, Upgrade to Word 2003 or above.
- If you have to use Word 2000, you need to add a space after every CJK characters.
- Use Microsft Word 2000 CJK version.
Note: Installing CJK Language pack on Windows XP does not solve the problem. This is not a NJStar specific problem, but since lots of NJStar users complain about this problem, we hope this will help pinpoint the exact problem.
